Cecelia Wright

Cecelia Victoria (Malinowski) Wright, 92, of Brenham passed away Monday, April 29, 2024.

Cecelia was born March 15, 1932 in Brenham, TX to John and Victoria (Kaliszewski) Malinowski. On June 28, 1952, she was married to Wayne C. Wright at Bryan Air Force Base. Cecelia and husband Wayne were the owners of Wright Locksmith of Brenham. She worked in the business for 50 years. Cecelia loved Lady Bugs! She had a collection of pins and stuffed animals representing Lady Bugs, with her favorite color being red. Cecelia also loved playing cards and would often take trips to the casinos. During her younger years, she enjoyed going fishing with her husband. She talked about picking cotton when she was very young with her parents,but could never quite pick the 100lbs that was asked of her. Cecilia enjoyed listening to original country and polka music.

Cecelia was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and son John.

Cecelia is survived by her son, Cecil Wright and wife Lee Ann of Brenham, grandchildren Jennifer Ann Wright and Jeremy Wayne Wright; step grandchildren Ray Gibbs III, Daniel Gibbs and wife Ying, and Jason Gibbs and wife Consuelo; great grandchildren Jenna and Jada DeChant; step great-grandchildren Andy Gibbs and Ray Gibbs IV, Natalie Gibbs, Haley Gibbs, Madeline Gibbs, and Jessica Gibbs

Visitation will be on Thursday, May 2, from 8am until 7pm at Brenham Memorial Chapel. Family will be present from 5-7pm.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 3, at 10am at Brenham Memorial Chapel with Albert Wright officiating. Burial will follow at Prairie Lea Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Cecil Wright, Tommy Kaliszewski, Andy Gibbs, Jeremy Wright, Daniel Gibbs, and Jason Derrick.
